Automattic presented a new advertisement network called Blaze which positions advertising on free WordPress.com websites and Tumblr. Marketing begins at $5/month.
Automattic is the business behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Akismet, Tumblr and other business.
It was established by Matt Mullenweg, the business owner who established the complimentary WordPress open-source material management system (CMS).
Blaze Marketing Network
The marketing network was initially presented in April 2022 as a network solely for Tumblr users to put advertisements on other Tumblr pages.
Automattic revealed that the network is now expanded to blog writers on WordPress.com and WordPress self-hosted publishers who have the Automattic Jetpack WordPress plugin installed.
Publishers on WordPress.com will be able to use the WordPress dashboard at wordpress.com/advertising to start selecting pages to promote.
Marketing payment is for impressions, not clicks.
Those who are utilizing the WordPress CMS can access Blaze through the Jetpack plugin.
If Jetpack isn’t already set up then it should be set up, either the complimentary or superior version works.
Those who are utilizing Jetpack can then start the campaign from the WordPress.com dashboard at https://wordpress.com/home.
From there a user navigates to the Posts or the Pages screen and scrolls to choose the posts or pages for marketing, clicking a three-dot (ellipsis) menu to select the Promote with Blaze option.
The interface enables advertisers to select the audience that will see the ads. Audience selection is segmented by what continent the advertisements will appear in, what type of devices will see the advertisements (mobile or desktop) and by what topic the ads will be shown in.
Ads Are Shown The marketing can appear from among countless Tumblr and free WordPress.com web pages. Management of the Blaze advertising campaigns is done through the dashboard interface at wordpress.com/advertising.
The projects are set up by a daily budget and by dates that the advertising will be shown. Blaze ads consist of a title, a bit and an image.
According to the Blaze assistance page:”Title: This appears above your image and as bolded text. You can compose a maximum of 80 characters here, utilize them sensibly to capture the audience’s attention.
Snippet: A brief text description of your post that appears underneath your image. You can write an optimum of 120 characters here. We recommend utilizing this text to support your headline and offer audiences more context about what they will see when they click the ad and get to your material.
Image: Publish an image to represent your post. You can use the crop tool to adjust your image’s look in the advertisement.”
