Google Analytics 4 Rolling Out Built-In Landing Page Report

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is presenting built-in performance that enables users to create landing reports.

Used to identify the effectiveness of landing pages, these reports gather information about check outs to a site, enabling web designers to check and enhance their landing pages.

Officially launched in mid-October 2020, GA4 is the replacement for Universal Analytics (UA), which is being sunsetted in July 2023.

Before this update, which is being presented to users slowly, landing page reports needed to be by hand constructed. This was an unintuitive procedure, which needed several clicks.

Landing Page Reports Available in Dashboard

You can discover the landing page report in the Engagement area of the left navigation in your GA4 control panel.

The default, automated report includes metrics for Views, New Users, Typical Engagement Time per Session, Conversions, and Total Earnings. However, these fields can be changed and tailored to each webmaster’s specific requirements.

Developing custom reports is a simple process:

  1. Click the “Custom-made Report” icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Click “Metrics” and include or get rid of the ones you desire in your report.
  3. Struck “Use” and generate your report.

GA4 Provides More Functionality Than Past Platform

Among the significant upgrades from UA4 to GA4 was the ability to integrate both web and app data into the exact same home. Google’s previous analytics program tracked screen views individually for mobile-specific properties.

GA4 added a new “Event” section while also including new metrics, consisting of “Engaged Session,” “Typical Engagement Time per Session,” and “Engagement Rate.”

Whereas UA provided a vast array of basic reports, UA4 has far fewer. Examining information in GA4 has typically required extra work, either through the development of a custom-made “Exploration” report or by exporting the data.

Overall, the functionality of GA4 appears to be tailored towards collecting and keeping track of events on a site rather than tracking pageviews and sessions.

GA4 Focused On User Information And Information Sources

Another considerable modification from UA to GA4 remained in information collection and privacy. Unlike its predecessor, GA4 does not collect or save IP addresses.

It also streamlined the procedure of erasing data while providing users with options regarding for how long their information is kept and if their place is recorded.
