Google Advertisements Account Managers Shouldn’t Contact Customers Directly

There are a growing number of reports across the web of Google Advertisements accounts managers threatening to get in touch with customers straight, regardless of not being enabled to.

According to the reports, firms who do not respond to emails from Google Ads account managers are being met risks from Google reps to contact customers straight.

In some cases, the Google Advertisements account supervisors call customers and inform them to drop their companies.

There are two things to explain here:

  1. Agencies are not required to speak with Google associates
  2. At no point should a Google Advertisements account supervisor call an agency’s client

A Google Ads rep informing customers to fire their company crosses the line.

However, these reports are becoming more regular.

Matt Janaway, CEO of Marketing Labs, shared his experience on LinkedIn this week:

support our advertisers and company partners.” Screenshot from: linkedin.com/posts/mattjanaway, November 2022. Janaway isn’t alone in his experience. Throughout October, reports flowed on Reddit of Google reps participating in comparable practices. One Reddit user posted a screenshot of an email gotten by a Google Advertisements Account

Strategist, which reads: “I am writing to you one last time as a courtesy, due to the fact that my sincere goal is to supply you

value and sophisticated methods with google advertisements and work with you closely, to help you conserve time and make your clients more successful with google advertisements, hence I am contacting you for the last time to inform you that if I do not reach you, I will presume that you are not getting my emails and will call the clients that I have actually been appointed directly.”Another Reddit user has almost the same story, saying they

‘ve been “harassed”with day-to-day emails from a Google Ads associate to get on a call and implement project modifications. Again, companies aren’t bound to talk to Google reps or implement modifications customers aren’t requesting. Must you receive an email like the one above, the very best thing to do is send a grievance via

Google’s main kind. Beware of these aggressive sales strategies. As long as you’re not breaking any policies, Google has no say over

how you run your clients’campaigns. Featured Image: FGC/Best SMM Panel
